She Trusted God
Trust in the LORD with all your heart. (Prov 3:5)

The Thing You Don't say aloud
You know the thing. The one you sometimes turn over at 2 a.m. The relationship, the health issue, the bill, the child, the marriage, the dream that has gone quiet. Maybe you have carried it so long that you have stopped expecting anything to change.
Friend, this journal is for you. Not to add one more task to your list, and not to make you feel you should be trusting God better. It is simply a place to set it all down in front of Him, and to discover, page by page, that He is strong enough to hold what you cannot.
Jeremiah said: "Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You." (Jeremiah 32:17)
He is right. Nothing is too hard for God. Not even this.
The Heart
of It
"...Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil."
(2 Kings 4:2)
She had almost nothing. A jar of olive oil, two sons about to be taken from her, and a need far bigger than anything in her hands. But she had one thing more, and it changed everything: a God she chose to trust.
She Trusted God walks you through her story in 2 Kings 4, one honest step at a time, and shows you what it looks like to bring all of it to God. Not the tidied-up version. The real thing: the fear, the uncertainty, the need, the broken heart, everything that's weighing you down.

her STory
A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves."
So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil."
Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors, empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones."
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.
2 Kings 4:1-7

From the author
Hi, I'm Sonya.
I wrote this journal from inside the kind of season it is meant for. I have spent more than a decade walking alongside women in Bible study, and in that time I have sat with many women in many hard places.
I have also been the woman in the hard place. As a cancer survivor, I learned firsthand that God knows how to bring His people through the darkest of nights, raising us up by His strength when we have none of our own.
That is the God I want you to meet on these pages. Not One Who is distant but the One who is very near even when everything feels like it is falling apart, the One who can be trusted with all of it.
I still open this journal myself. I am pressing in to trust Him with all of it, right alongside you.
Sonya

Questions About the Journal
-
How is the paperback delivered?
It is printed especially for you and shipped to your door, so please allow a little time for printing and delivery. You will receive tracking once it is on its way.
-
Does it stand on its own, or do I need anything else?
It stands completely on its own. You can pick it up and start today. It also shares the heart of our online Bible study, where we gather to learn from the women of Scripture who trusted God before us, so the two walk beautifully together if you would like to go further.
-
Can we go through it as a group?
Yes, and it is a beautiful way to do it. The journal works wonderfully for a small group, a women's Bible study, or a few friends who want to grow together. Each woman writes her own honest reflections and prayers on her own pages, and then you gather to share what God is showing each of you. Going through it together adds encouragement and accountability, and there is something holy about watching God move in one another's lives. If your group would like a guided rhythm, it pairs naturally with our online Bible study.
-
Can I use it more than once, give it as a gift, or go through it with a friend?
Yes to all three. You may want to walk through it more than once, in different seasons, and it makes a meaningful gift for someone you love. And if a friend is walking through a hard place right now, one of the most loving things you can do is walk through it with her. Get a copy for each of you, take one devotional at a time, and meet to share what God is showing you both. You do not have to fix anything for her. Sometimes the most healing gift is simply making sure she does not have to bear the weight alone.
